A Month Of Posts ... Last Day!

Well I can't quite believe it, but today marks the end of my posting challenge. I've completed one post per day for a whole month. If I'm honest I thought I'd find it all a bit of a struggle, especially when it came to finding things to post about ... but I guess the chatterbox in me took over and I just ended up writing the way I was thinking ... which is why the posts have probably seemed a bit strange at times!! Even though this may be the last post of my challenge, it certainly won't end here. I'm going to try my best to keep posting as much as I can as I've actually rather enjoyed it.

Onto today's project then?? Well, I'm going to share another pamper cake with you today ... This was made for Debbie's birthday on the 7th of June. I would love to have shown you back then, but as she didn't get given the gift until yesterday, it would have been a bit rude to show you first!!

We've made quite a few of the pamper cakes now, so they're getting easier to make ... or so we thought until this week!! We were asked to make this one extra special using specific items chosen by the person giving it. Usually the cakes include two tiers made of towels and the rest is added for decoration. The two tiers are made to a specific size, but as this one included much larger items than usual we had to adjust just about everything to fit it all in!! Thankfully it worked out in the end! I actually love this colour combination ... the lime and purple sit so well together. We even made an extra special wine bottle label and covered the chocolates to make it all match together.

This one is definitely my favourite so far and hopefully Debbie loved it too.

A Month Of Posts ... bestest bud

Morning everybody please bear with today as me (mum) is having  to do the blog .Can't get away with it any longer Little has left me to do it all on my own but I am sure she will check my spelling ....

The first picture this morning is one card I did for my bestest bud's birthday .just a small card but with a magnet on as we are all getting old and thought it would make her laugh.

The next card i found this saying and changed just a bit because when we go out to dinner you just don't come back with a full stomach but your ribs hurt from laughing soooooo much and your checks are just the same.

This it the saying but did change it a bit. hope it made her laugh when she opened it

This card is just because Jackie is always there when you need her and never has a bad thing to say about anybody, which is why I love her.

This is what the saying is on the card ,which is Jackie to a tee.

This one is because if you remember we made a card for her daughter in law that went to Canada it is made in the same way, but again had to make for Jackie just because she is so lovely.

Then we go on to her presents well one day on facebook she said that she had eaten a whole jar of chocolate spread so guess what's in the box. Hope you liked it Jackie but just remember don't eat it all at once.

Then her last present well not really but the rest are surprises for her to open. I found this shopper bag and throught to use it as the gift bag.Which I filled with coffee, chocolate bars, mints and chewing gum and also some sweetener not that Jackie needs it as she is already sweet enough there is also a bottle of wine in there for her to toast her birthday..Enough of my gushing about my best bud just to say hope you have a wonderful day......Love you lots x x x

A Month Of Posts ... Ribbon & Glitter & Pretty things!

I'm so glad I've finished making all the male cards we need for a while. Now I can go back to playing with Ribbon, glitter and pretty things! Talking of which, I thought I'd share a couple of cards with you today that definitely fit into that category ...

First up there's this cute forever friends bear with his special bunch of flowers for Nanny! See look! There's ribbon and glitter and pretty flowers ... definitely my favourite kind of cards! 

Then there's this one for the same lady but this time from her Great Grandson. This will be her first birthday card since becoming a Great Nanny, so we knew it had to be extra special. Hopefully she'll think it is.

A Month Of Posts ... All Finished

I've finally finished all of the Fathers Day card orders, so I thought I'd share some of them with you today. As always, there's some I can't show you as the recipients may just be able to see me posting these! But these are the ones whose recipients don't know ...

First up there's the Grandad Fathers day card. As you can see Mum's made the tie to match the backing paper.

Then there's the Dad card for the same person ... a classic!

This is the first of the three Daddy cards for the next recipient.

On the first card you get a little bit of a glimpse at the tyre paper which has again been used on this one with an extra sentiment ... 

There's a reason for all the wheels, but I can't show you why just yet!

Completing the set is this mutlicoloured card with Tatty holding the wheels that spell Daddy.

A special Reading FC themed card for the Reading loving Dad

This one's for my Dad! (again please don't tell him!) ... anyone that knows my Dad will know he has a tash, so I couldn't resist using it to decorate this card... What you might not know about him though is that he has a rather annoying habit of "faffing" about when he doesn't need to be doing anything!! Ooo and of course the little bear needed a tash too!! 

Another card for my Dad, this time from Crusty. She loves the stitching side of card making, but when it comes to adding the stitched images to the cards she gets a little bit daunted. So Mum's added some road map paper and papers to match the colours of the stitching to complete her project.

This last card is for our Grandad. Another variation of the card above complete with road map paper!

A Month Of Posts ... Chicken!

 Nope, I'm not to show you  a card featuring a chicken, nor am I going to show you a felt chicken! Today's post title actually has nothing to do with the project I'm going to show you! So then, why the chicken? Well, today Mum, Lady and I went on a bit of an outing to a garden centre ... I know! Not quite a rock and roll lifestyle! Anyway, whilst we were at the garden centre looking for some pretty flowers for Lady's garden we came across a loose chicken! ... and Ooo yes he was real! He was quite happily just roaming around the garden centre pecking away at the plants!! All I can say is I'm glad I had my trainers and not my flip flops or he'd probably have pecked my toes off! (Yes Lady my Maggot toes!! ... she says they're so tiny they look like maggots!!).

Back to today's post then .... Remember yesterday I was telling you how Mum was busy playing around with towels, candles and chocolates? She was busy making yet another pampers cake ... her 3rd this week and she's still got two more to do!! Whilst I'd love to show you them all, there's actually only one I can share with you today as the rest are all yet to be delivered to their recipients!

This time she's added a few felt flowers to the front for added decoration, but nope she still won't let me have any of it!!

A Month Of Posts ... A Little Something

Evening All! I'm afraid today's blogpost is going to be a little short. I've got a rather long list of orders to complete that no matter how many I complete, just doesn't seem to be getting any shorter! I'm currently sitting in the kitchen surrounded by card, glitter pens and ribbon whilst Mum is busy creating things with towels, candles and chocolates! So as I'm itching to get on with my endless list I'll just show you a few of the little cards Mum made last week. 

We received yet another little parcel from Ali over at Crafty Ribbons. This time it was full of her new sentiments ribbons...everything from "Keep calm and carry on" to "with love" and "especially for you". Mum just couldn't wait to get stuck into them and came up with these ... 

Tatty's even got a little black rose for you!

I don't know if it's because I'm still in a patriotic mood or just because I love polka dots, but this one is my favourite!

Ok! I know these don't have the ribbons on them, but they were far too cute to not include them! Who wouldn't want a call from this bear! 

Right, I'm off to put the kettle on before getting stuck back into my crafting.

A Month Of Posts ... 60 years ago

Well, we all know that 60 years ago today the queen was celebrating her coronation. But, at the same time my Nan's friend Paula was being born! Yep that's right, today Paula celebrates her 60th birthday ... what a special day! So when we were asked to make a 60th birthday card it of course had to have a little bit of a jubilee theme to it!

Instead of the typical red, white and blue we went with a bit of a vintaged red which almost looks orange in this picture! Then of course there's tatty with the union flag cushion along with tatty being swept into the bunting whilst holding onto his 60th balloons!

I'm sure whatever she's celebrating today, she's having a fab day... Happy Birthday Paula.

A Month Of Posts ... 3 flowers

Today's post was supposed to come from Crusty, but thing's have gotten a little bit hectic here at craft towers so I'm afraid you're stuck with me again! Crusty was going to show you all some of her cupcakes she had to make for a little girl's 3rd birthday party this afternoon, so I'll try my best try and explain what I hope she was going to!

A while ago Crusty had invited her very good friend  Bronwyn into her kitchen for a lesson in cupcake baking! They had all of Crusty's recipe books out, every tool for decorating and had taken up every surface in the kitchen. When it came to deciding on the colours of the icing, Bronwyn was like a child in a sweety shop ... she wanted them all ... and glitter!! Crusty the made a suggestion that had Bronwyn bouncing off the walls with excitement!! So with a bit of food colouring and a lot of mess, they made these ....

See, I told you Bronwyn wanted every colour! I can assure you they were even brighter in the flesh too. So that's the outside, what does the inside look like? Well ... 

I'm not quite sure how, but the inside was even more colourful than the out! 

After making these colourful cupcakes, Crusty was asked to make the cakes for the 3rd birthday party. The little girl's favourite colour is purple, so the original plan was to make purple cakes with white icing and purple decorations. Crusty made up a tester batch of purple cakes a couple of weeks before to check they'd work. They did turn out to be purple, but the top of the cake where it was baked seemed to turn a funny shade of grey ... I guess with baking there's never a certainty. I personally think they would have been ok, but Crusty really wasn't happy with how they looked. So with an alteration to the plans, she made these ... 

Purple cake cases with purple and lilac decorations. Pretty little cupcakes for Aaliyah's 3rd birthday party. They've already been collected and by all accounts everyone was happy with them, so I'm sure Crusty is too!

A Moth Of Posts ... From 100 to 1

A few days ago I shared a very special card with you that we'd made for someone's Grandad who was turning 100. Today I'm sharing a card from the complete opposite end of life ... a first birthday card! Personally I can't remember the card I was given for my first birthday as I'm sure everyone else can't. The 1st birthday is about the parents, they're the ones that remember every first in their childs life! If they're clever the save them up and use them as embarassment tools later in life!! I'm 32 and still get my parents recalling the stories of my firsts ... even if I'd rather they didn't!

Anyway, today's post is about Evan's first birthday. We were asked to make him a card and came up with this ...

I'm sure Evan won't remember it, but hopefully his parents will love it!

A Month Of Posts ... Jubilee

Remember how I told you I had some special projects with you yesterday that just couldn't be shared until today?? Well today I can show them to you, but first I'll show you a few things we made a while back to go with our jubilee collection. Ali over at crafty ribbons has been showcasing our projects alongside her own during their jubilee crafters event. Tomorrow is the last day of the event so I'm sure I won't be spoiling any surprises by showing you them now!!

First up we have some little smelly hearts!! ...

They really are smelly too ... they're stuffed with lavender so are ideal little drawer/wardrobe hangers to keep your clothes smelling fresh! As you can see, just like me, tatty can't decide which one he prefers best!

There's the queen of hearts triple hanger...

Or the single heart. I think Mum's just made them too pretty to choose!

Once Mum had made the smelly hearts, her next idea was to make extra little hearts to attach to teddy bears that can be given as gifts. So ... 

Cute huh? These bears tell a little bit of a story though. You see, all of those bears are actually mine. Mum knew what she wanted to do, but we had no other bears to play with. So we used mine, but she didn't want to stitch the hearts on permanently, so she just pinned them temporarily for display. The problem was one of the bears just didn't want to play and instead got a bit violent ... 

See how the little bear with the blue heart on the left has let go of the heart?? Well, is it just me or does he look like he's about to stab tatty next to him? Ooo and of course tatty in the centre has a bit of a petrified look about him!! ... just me?? Ooo well, it made me chuckle!! 

Last up from our jubilee collection were these ... 

Yummy chocolate heart lolly's for the queen of hearts! Of course being for the jubilee they had to have red, white and blue flowers on too, just for extra prettiness! 

Anyone want to guess what's inside the chocolate?? Are they cake pops?? Nope, they're marzipan hearts dipped in chocolate ... mmm mmm yummy!! We'll definitely be making those again! 

So if all of these have been seen before, then why couldn't we share today's post until today? Yep I really could hear you thinking that! Well, that'll be because we hadn't yet given away two very special cards ... 

This card was for Lady! Nope, it's not her birthday. But what the heck, any excuse to give a card! So this was a special jubilee card to wish her a happy weekend! 

Of course the problem is once you give one card, you have to give more! 

So this card is for Mum's best friend Jackie. As the card it self says, she really is a first class friend!

A Month Of Posts ...

I'm still working my way through the Fathers Day card orders today. I'm not sharing them on this post though, nope today I thought I'd share some cards that will be given tomorrow ... I would share them tomorrow, but I have something else in mind for tomorrows post that I definitely can't share until then!

So back to today... Linda asked us for two cards. One from her Son and one from her for her Daughter. All she could decide was that she wanted both of them to be Tatty teddy cards. Making two tatty teddy cards can prove to be a bit of a struggle when they're both for the same person. You see, the problem with Tatty is that the images usually all sit well with the same kinds of colours ... pastels. If you're not careful they can turn out to be very similar. So knowing they had to be different I started out with this one ...

That's tatty opening the cake box! See what I mean about the girly pastel colours? The image really does go well with those colours. Having made this one I then struggled to find another image I could use that wouldn't go with a similar colour palette. But then I found this ... 

Tatty got a little bit patriotic! But I hopefully you'll agree that they're two different cards ... just don't look at the ribbon!! (it's a different colour so it doesn't count!)

To be honest, I don't think it would matter to me how many tatty teddy cards I had as I love tatty teddy. He's definitely my favourite character to receive and to craft with. 

If you think this card is patriotic though, just you wait to see what I have in store for tomorrow!

A Month Of Posts ... Male

When I woke up this morning I was expecting the sun to be gone... but it's still here! I was all prepared to spend the day crafting, but when I saw the sunshine I suddenly found myself sitting in the garden again. I have deadlines approaching for last minute orders though, so as much as I protested I just couldn't persuade Mum to give me another day off! What made it worse was I knew what I had to do... nothing but male card ... yuck! As I've said on previous posts, I'm not a big fan of making male cards. Something about not being able to add pretty flowers and ribbon makes them less appealing!

I delayed it as long as possible, but eventually I found myself sitting inside crafting and made this ...

When the card was ordered I asked if there was anything in particular the person had in mind. They told me they didn't really mind and that their Grandad likes footy, beer and cricket!! So I added them all together and put them on this card! 

Whilst I made the Grandad card, Mum made this one ...

Mum knew the person it's for is a builder, so when she found this Forever friends bear with his tool belt, hammering away she knew she wanted to use it... The spring has been added to hold the worlds best Dad sign so that it looks like he's hammering the sign in! Cute huh?

Well seeing as I've done some work today, I think it's only fair I get to head back out into the sunshine for a little while! Tea and cake time I think!

A Month Of Posts ... 18

I've got three cards to share with you today. They're all for Melissa who celebrates her 18th Birthday today. I can still remember the day that little Mel, came to celebrate Crusty's 16th birthday. In fact, I even have a photo of her and her Sister's that I thought I'd ...... well aren't 18th birthdays supposed to be about the embarassing childhood photos?? So ...

haha Ok, I'm not that mean!! Maybe I should just skip straight to sharing her birthday cards with you ...

Mel's plays football in an all girls team whose team colours are yellow and blue so I couldn't resist using the footballs to spell out Sister. A photo never really tells the complete story though.... some of those footballs are on little acetate springs so it looks as if they're floating and Tatty's kicked them there!

Another photo where you don't really get the full story. The little hedgehog on the left of the picture is dangling from those balloons. He hangs loosely so it looks as if he's flying away with them! If you swing it a little bit, the hedgehog also manages to land the little present on the top of the stack the little Mouse is carrying!!

Lastly there's the Daughter card. What I haven't mentioned until now is that yellow is Mel's favourite colour. So all of her cards always contain yellow. I got a little bit stuck with what to do for her Daughter card, but in the end I went with this. I love the bunting banner. I've also made it so Dad's got the champagne and Mum's got the balloon!!

Hope you've had a fab birthday Mel, although by the looks of the message on facebook you have a hole in your toe? haha the drunken nights begin!
